North Port Yoga opened in August 2013, shortly after Natalie DiMauro moved to North Port, Florida. She soon noticed a void in the town’s pleasantly scant shopping plazas: A yoga studio. As a long-time fitness professional and committed volunteer in the Veteran community, Natalie knows the significance of yoga in benefiting the body and the mind first hand. For the next 3 years, Natalie owned, managed and personally taught at North Port Yoga alongside great friends and talented teachers. Her legacy continued with new owner and teacher, Amy Osborne, who arrived from Los Angeles in hopes of practicing and sharing yoga full-time. Amy graduated with a Master of Arts in Yoga Studies from Loyola Marymount University in May 2016 and published her first book, A Year in Yoga: Science and Practice of Trauma-Informed Mindfulness. She is extremely grateful to be able to teach, work and learn alongside the growing North Port Yoga family.
As of November 2017, Amy continues to grow the business under partnership. Matt and Angel Loflin of Austin, TX, joined forces as Wellness and Studio Manager respectively, while also serving as a massage therapist and yoga instructor at North Port Yoga + Wellness. Together, the business continues to grow and their shared mission promotes the widespread use and instruction of yoga and healing therapies for physical and mental wellness.
